Photography has been one of the best ways for me to explore my creative side without relying solely on graphic design or music. It allows me to capture life’s best moments and encourages me to slow down and appreciate my surroundings—and the world as a whole.

Below, you’ll find four galleries showcasing some of my favorite photography experiences!

HANGING ROCK

Sometimes, when you constantly tap into your creativity through graphic design, it’s easy to feel burnt out. On April 12, 2025, I challenged myself to hike the Hanging Rock Trail in Danbury, NC. I decided to bring my camera along to capture anything that caught my eye. It was a refreshing way to explore a different creative outlet—photography—while also sharpening my skills in camera work and Photoshop editing.

ROOM CURIOSITY PHOTOGRAPHY

In my "Art & Abstraction" class, we were tasked with photographing objects that catch our eye in the rooms we sit in every day. While many of the objects that sit in my room are ordinary, taking a closer look at how light reflects off them, their textures, and the way shadows interact with them can reveal new and unexpected meanings in a piece.

SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY

As co-editor of my high school yearbook during my senior year, I dedicated much of my time to capturing the essence of school life through photography.

Using a Canon EOS Rebel T6, I documented a variety of sports, including baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, wrestling, and football. This experience became a pivotal moment in my journey, allowing me to develop my camera skills and igniting my passion for photography.

HAMMOND SCHOOL DANCE MARATHON

Capturing photos for this event was truly special. During the day, Lower and Middle School students take time out of their schedules to dance, raising awareness and funds, while high schoolers keep the energy going all night for the ultimate push!

The High School Dance Marathon is filled with exciting events, games, great food, and nonstop dancing! From 8:00–11:00 PM, we rally together—reaching out to friends and family, connecting with patients from Duke Children’s Hospital, and dancing our hearts out for a great cause.
